Running is fun!
At 2800 meters even a 10 km (6,21 miles) race is a big challenge. On sunday november 11th. more than 4000 persons faced this challenge in Quito when participating in the 10 k race organized by nike. But it was not an isolated event because that day there were some other thousands of people running in the streets of Argentina, Brazil, Chile,Venezuela, Colombia, Mexico, Peru and Uruguay (nikecorre.com).
In Quito, the capital of Ecuador, the race began a little later than 7:00 am when thousands of sky blue T-shirts started moving in the streets of Quito. There were all kind of diffetent color spots of those of us that didn’t registered for the race, and were wearing our favorite T-shirt, those who run just because it is fun. Yes, it is so much fun to be cheered by strangers in the street. If you hadn’t been in a running race, you should try it; when you finish the race, no matter the positin, you feel like the strongest athlete in the world.
Franklin Tenorio, an ecuadorian athlete was the fastest one, he completed the race in 30 minutes, 30 seconds. I completed the 10k in 46 minutes flat.
