Before booking any kind of trip, think about what do you want from your travel exeprience, what do you want to bring back to your home -a story, pictures, a pin for your map, a personal achievement.

Ecuador, Yasuni: Grasshopper The naturalists. They research about all the natural environment they will visit, they want to see as much wildlife as they could (They would wake up at 5 am to go birdwatching!).
Ecuador, Salasaca girl The culture lovers. Some travelers would travel to get inmersed in the culture, they would like to spend longer periods in a specific site, they would learn about the people, the food, the culture.
Galapagos: Charles Darwin reserarch station

Worldmap travelers. They have a worldmap with pins and they like to visit as many countries as they could. They want to travel in luxury and stay in all inclusive resorts. They don’t care a lot about learning about the culture, but like to have a relaxing vacation.

Barefoot in Galapagos

The adventurers. Hikers, bikers, kayakers, climbers, they have a clear goal: biking this road, climbing that mountain, hike that trail….

Galapagos beach Looking for fun. Younger travelers sometimes travel to have fun and to party. They will take a few one day trips but always return to the party town for their salsa lessons.

Those are the ones that come to my mind now, I am sure there are many other ways of travelling. I think I am an adventurer: when I was in Bolivia for the first time, I climbed Huayna Potosi, Illimani & Sajama, but never visited the main square in La Paz or the Tihuanaco ruins, I am glad I went back a few years later to see those great places. My first time in Italy I would prefer to go rock climbing rather than visiting Venice. What kind of traveler are you
