Wild Animal Rescue Centers
The animal biodiversity in tropical forests is decreasing in countries such as Ecuador. The global warming and the partitioning of the habitat of this animals is one of the reasons. But also the illegal trade of native animals, caused by the demand of national and international consumers is contributing to the decreasing of the numbers of this animals in the wild
Nowadays it is much more difficult to see a cayman, monkeys, macaws, snakes, turtles, ocelots and more in forests that only 5 year ago was much more usual. In Ecuador there are still big protected and untouched areas where these animals could be found wild. In some other places they can only be found in resuce centers, where the animals are brought by the police as they find these animals living in captivity usually with poor nutrition, dehidrated and confined in very small and unhealthy places.
This rescue centres are usually private, Their job is helping these animals to live in much better conditios. Unfortunately most of these animals cannot be released in the wild because they had lost their instinct for hunting or self feeding. They can only be released in smaller private reserves where they can be monitored and eventually feeded.
